Do you have a story to tell?

Since our mission is to have a museum chronicling the role of Michigan in 20th century conflict, we need to collect the stories of those men and women who were there.

At this time, our resources are limited, but the when dealing with history, the longer one waits to collect it, the harder it is to find.

We are looking for

  • Photos
  • Papers
  • Worker badges
  • Artifacts
  • Awards
  • Diaries
  • Letters

Stories

Did you work in a defense plant? Did a family member work in a defense plant? Do you have a story about the experience?

We also want the stories that fill in the holes about what it was like, were you a child growing up during the war? Do you have a funny rationing tale?

Let us know; we want to hear!

And although our main focus is currently on the 1940-1950 time period, we also want to hear from other eras, did great Grandpa work at the liberty engine plant in WWI? Did you work at the Warren Tank or Chrysler Missile plant in the Cold War? We want your story!

We need "Stuff" Too!

We need laptops, large format scanners, laminators and color printers.

We are also in need of a portable digital projector, can you help?

If you can help us aquire any of these items, please contact us at mimths@mimths.org
